The Rundown: Shaxs learns the dark truth at the center of the universe and takes it how you think he would.

Shaxs has found a purpose in Lore’s new iteration of the universe as the most feared Pah-Wraith in the galaxy. After discovering that Worf and Kahless are on the Enterprise, Shaks emerges to destroy them, but in the midst of battle, he accidentally touches the weapon that unlocks the truth in his mind.

In the aftermath, Shaks must navigate a new reality filled with familiar faces while trying to make his way to where he thinks the center of this new dark universe is, Starfleet Headquarters. After a pitched battle against ships like the Titan and the Cerritos, he crashes into Earth where an army of Shaks begin their mission to dismantle Lore’s universe everywhere in order to give Sisko the time to fix it.

The Story: North crafts a fun and thrilling story amidst the serious tone of the arc. There is some great over the top action as well as fun and funny cameos and surprises throughout the issue. I like that the story keeps the tone of the animated series while touching on the bigger issues in the Lore War arc and I like that the story is self-contained as a one-shot because the action of this story could not be topped with a follow up issue.

The Art: Charm delivers some great art throughout the issue. I love seeing the story told in the same visual style as the animated series.
